Ink vs Electronic Fingerprinting

Understand the difference before you book.

LV Fingerprinting offers both traditional ink-rolled fingerprint cards and electronic fingerprint capture with supported print-to-card service. The correct option depends on your requesting agency’s instructions.

INK FINGERPRINTING

Traditional Ink-Rolled Fingerprint Cards

Ink fingerprinting uses traditional rolled impressions placed directly onto a supported fingerprint card. This option may be required by certain agencies, licensing boards, employers, or out-of-state applications.

ELECTRONIC FINGERPRINTING

Electronic Capture + Print-to-Card

Electronic fingerprinting captures your fingerprints digitally. For supported requirements, those fingerprints can then be printed onto a fingerprint card, making it easier to produce multiple clean copies when needed.
